Man Accused Of Stealing $24K From Harrah's Casino In Custody After Short Pursuit, Police Say

A Chester County man suspected of stealing $24,000 from Harrah's Casino was taken into police custody after leading officers on a short foot pursuit last month, authorities said.

Markile Washington was in the front passenger seat near 11th and Butler Street when officers stopped the 2006 Nissan Maxima on Jan. 30, Commissioner Steven Gretsky said.

Washington fled the car and was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit, Gretsky said.

District Justice Christopher Mattox arraigned Washington, and his bail was set at 10% of $20,000.

Washington was sent to George W. Hill Correctional Facility where he’ll await his preliminary hearing on Feb. 9 with Judge Dawn Vann.
